How wealthy are you? What does wealth mean to you? This month’s topic is very interesting as it will mean different things to everyone. What true wealth is to me might be something completely different to you.
I recall having seen the movie “Indecent Proposal”, starring
Robert Redford, Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson
which presents a moral dilemma. A married woman is offered to have sex with another man for $1,000,000 and finally agrees on it. Already you are making some decision in your head if you were in that situation. For some it would be a definite No, for others a Yes.
Reflecting on this, it is clear that wealth for many people comes with limitations which are imposed by the values and beliefs that they hold. Some people will consider that the $1,000,000 would provide them with wealth while others see a successful happy relationship as their wealth.
Did you know that the word wealth comes from the Old English words “weal” meaning well-being and “th” for condition, which then together mean “the condition of well-being”?
Wikipedia’s definition on wealth is “an abundance of valuable material possessions or resources”. So wealth is a measure of your ability to do what you would like to do, when you would like to do it - a measure of your available choices.
Wealth is any lasting asset that is valued by people, may it be intangible like a sense of humour or tangible assets like houses, cars, boats, stocks, etc.
Wealth is also time. How much time have you spent reading this far? Could you have been doing something more useful, more optimal from your perspective? Time is the most valuable thing we have.
So next time you ask for greater wealth, make sure that you are clear on what that actually means to you. Is it in the area of health, relationships, finances …? It is essential to be specific about what you want.
This month I ask you to get clear on what is wealth to you and to take action now that will move you towards gaining the wealth that you desire.

Our Platinum program is a unique blend of business and career education while experiencing 5 star environment. During March our Platinum group spent 3 days in tropical Northern Queensland’s Sheraton Mirage hotel. The focus of this trip was to provide an insight into marketing their business or product and their own image.
